Merit Badge Weekend Prerequisites and Info


Who:    Registered Scouts and Scouters

What:   Merit badge weekend

When:  February 19 - 21, 2016

Where: Kiwanis Scout Reservation (Bat Cave, Buffalo, Gordon Hall)

Why:    Earn merit badges while having fun camping with the Troop

Cost:    $40 per Scout, $25 per Adult

Departure: Otter Lake Elementary on Friday, February 19th at 6:00pm. Eat supper before arriving.

Returning: Sunday around noon. Scouts will be dropped off at their homes.

Sign-up: Sign-up sheet will be at the troop meetings. Cancellations after February 16th will be charged $35.

Merit Badge offerings:

    • TBD

    This camp trip will consist of a lot of indoor and outdoor activities.  The scouts will be camping in cabins.

    Wear Class A uniform with a Class B underneath for traveling

    Check the weather forecast to see how cold it might get and pack accordingly.

    Scouts/Adults should bring:

    Complete change of clothes and extra socks

    2 underwear

    2 pair pants

    2 shirts

    Sweatshirt or jacket

    Closed toe shoes

    Hat, gloves and boots

    Sleeping clothes

    Sleeping bag

    Pillow

    Scout book

    Flashlight

    Pocketknife

    Water bottle

    Backpack or duffel bag

    Plastic bag for wet clothes

    Smellables (personal hygiene):

    Toothbrush/toothpaste

    Soap and washcloth

    Personal medication
