Road to First Class Campout

Who:    Registered Scouts in the Road to First Class Program

What:   Work towards the First Class rank, and enjoy the outdoors

When:  October 7th - 9th, 2016

Where: Fred C. Andersen Scout Reservation, Wisconsin (less than 1 hour)

Why:    To complete rank advancements and to have fun, of course!!

Estimated Cost:    $25 per Scout, $15 per Adult

Shopping Night: Thursday October 6th - 7:00pm
All RTFC boys will meet at Cub Foods (1059 meadowlands Drive, WBL)
in the produce section near the entrance.
From there they will split into cooking partners and buy groceries for their trip
based on the shopping lists they created during the RTFC meetings.
Parents: please plan to come with and guide your shoppers.

Departure: Otter Lake Elementary on Friday, October  7th at 6:00pm.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the 6:00pm departure time.
DO NOT EAT supper before arriving, the scouts will be making Dinner at camp.

Returning: Sunday after 12pm, the scouts will be making lunch on Sunday prior to leaving camp. Scouts will be dropped off at their homes.

Sign-up: Sign-up sheet will be at the Road to First Class troop meetings. Cancellations after October 4th will be charged $25.

This camp trip will consist of a lot of outdoor activities.  The scouts will be staying in the Shelter #1 cabin located in the lower level of the camp, or in troop tents if they arrange ahead of time.

Wear Class A uniform with a Class B underneath for traveling

Check the weather forecast to see how cold it might get and pack accordingly.

Scouts/Adults should bring:

Complete change of clothes and extra socks

2 underwear

2 pair pants

1 pair shorts (if weather appropriate)

2 shirts

Sweatshirt or jacket

Raincoat

Closed toe shoes

Sleeping clothes

Sleeping bag

Pillow

Scout book

Flashlight

Pocketknife

Mess kit, cup, knife, fork and spoon (plastic recommended)

Mesh bag with drawstring for holding/drying mess kit

Water bottle – squeeze-type

Backpack or duffel bag

Plastic bag for wet clothes

Smellables (personal hygiene):

Toothbrush/toothpaste

Soap and washcloth

Personal medication
