Tomahawk - Older Scout Programs

There is Limited Space Available for these programs: Sign-Up by April 9th for your best chance.

Scouts that have completed 7th grade and will be entering 8th grade in the fall have a whole new set of activities available to them ranging from STEM programs, to High Adventure like ATV riding, to trades-based programs like welding. A $25 (non-refundable) deposit will be required to complete your reservation. Sign-Up  for Tomahawk and put your selection in the comments area, send an email to Eric Bergquist at ebergquist@q.com to check availability.

EXPLORE HIGH ADVENTURE  (additional $25)

Still need merit badges but are looking for something more? This entry level High Adventure program is offered morning or afternoon. Scouts will experience a different activity each day and help them discover further High Adventures to do in the future. Busing to and from the Welcome Center provided. Scouts will be back before the next meal starts.

TRAILS HIGH ADVENTURE  (additional $50)

Trails is mountain biking focused programs that uses bikes to connect older Scouts to a number of exciting adventures around camp. Includes cycling merit badge. This program will take you to every corner of camp and make you a better biker. Program includes an offsite day biking on single track trails in Cable, WI. This program does not include ATV riding.

This program is everyday and runs approximately from 9am to 5pm. Scouts will join their troop or crew in the evening.

ATV SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM  (additional $40)

In this day long program hands on training participants learn how to handle an ATV safely. Riders will complete a ATV Safety Institute training prior to going on a trail ride. Riders train on the ATV range and then move out on the trails to explore the back trails of Tomahawk.*Must have a ATV Hold Harmless form completed by parent or guardian to participate. Scout will not be allowed to ride without form and proper clothing.

TREKS HIGH ADVENTURE  (additional $50)

Adventure outside of camp all week in TREKS.This is the most classic mix of High Adventure program we offer. Three of the five days are spent off camp property of day trips. The days in camp are designed to prepare you for adventure off-camp and to link other fun programs together. This program is everyday and runs approximately from 9am to 5pm. Scouts will join their troop or crew in the evening (with the exception of one night).

AQUATICS HIGH ADVENTURE  (additional $50)

If you love water this program based heavily on sailing and kayaking is for you. This week-long program elevates fun on the water to a whole new level. This program is everyday and runs approximately from 9am to 5pm. Scouts will join their troop or crew in the evening (with the exception of one night).

RANCH HANDS  (additional $75)

In this program you will learn all about farm animals and have plenty of hands on time with horses. Scouts will earn the horsemanship merit badge and animal science merit badge. Scouts will spend their time hands on with the horses learning to care for them and ride them! If you like hitting the dusty trail this program is for you!

In this exciting STEM Program Scouts will earn Electricity, Electronics and Digital Technology Merit Badges as well as the Nova Awards Whoosh and Designed to Crunch! Learn how science and techonology effects our day to day lives! From aspiring Einsteins to those interested in technology, this program has something for everyone.

NEWS TEAM  (additional $25)

Extra extra read all about it! Scouts to learn how to be in the fast pace career of Journalism! Help us run the HAWK AM, camp's radio station by selecting the music and maybe evening making an old time radio show! Journey through camp and get the latest news in the sub camps by interviewing Scouts and snapping pictures with Journalism and Photography Merit Badge! These articles will even find their way into the Black Bear Bulletin, Tomahawk's Newspaper! Finally wrap it all up by working with Moviemaking Merit Badge! There is something for every News Anchor aspiring Scout in the News Team Program!

SPARKS  (additional $50)

Learn how to weld and work metal in this trades based program. This program is offered every morning and will give Scouts the chance to practice welding at our shop area. Using a propane forge they will reshape steel for a useful souvenir to take home.

In this trades based program for older scouts who want to learn about engine maintenance and how plumbing works. This program contains the farm mechanics and plumbing merit badges that will guide the program experience.
