Bike Trip 2016

posted Jun 27, 2016, 10:57 AM by Scout Historian
A group of 19 scouts and adults drove up to Duluth Wednesday night. We got rain all that night, then woke up and biked 30 miles that day. It was a beautiful day and when we got to Moose Lake we got to go swimming. That was a great night with perfect weather. The next day we got up and biked to Hinckley, which was another 30 miles. We had another good night. Then the next day we did a 50 mile ride down Highway 61 in 96 degree heat and a lot of humidity in the air with a 16 mile per hour headwind. It was a brutal ride, but when we got to Wyoming we all set up camp and got to rest for a long time. We missed a severe storm that went just north of us and ended up with just about a 10 minute downpour. Then finally we biked 12 miles on the last day and got to Hugo with dilly bars waiting for us. Overall this was a great trip and we biked 150 miles in 4 days and Mrs. Blank was the warrior of the trip for fighting through all of the challenges and finishing!
