Family Campout

Who:  Troop 494 Boy Scouts, Pack 437 Cub Scouts, Siblings and Parents

What:  Family Campout. This is an opportunity for the whole family to experience what a scout does                            on one of our camping adventures.

            Here are some of the activities we are planning for the weekend.

      • Scavenger Hunt
      • Team Fire-Building Contest
      • Minute to Win-It Games
      • Saturday Night Movie
      • Campfire with Skits                         

Where:  Stearns Scout Camp - 3303 County Road 44, south Haven, MN 55382

 Heritage Lodge; kitchen, (2) Indoor Bathrooms, Common Areas, sleeping for (62) on floor mats

 Gagner Lodge; Bunkhouse separated into (5) rooms with sleeping for (72) in beds 

When:  April 13th – 15th, 2018

                Departure: Otter Lake Elem. School on Friday, April 13th at 6:00pm. Eat supper before arriving.

                Returning: Sunday around 12pm. Boy Scouts attending solo will be dropped off at their home.

 Why:     To have fun camping with your scout friends and family, of course!!

Sign-Up:  By Tuesday, April 3rd…. Troop 494 Boy Scouts sign up online on troop website.

    Pack 437 Cub Scouts – Sign-Up with your camping coordinator. 

Cost:      Includes Friday night Cracker Barrel, Saturday Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Breakfast.

Troop 494 Scouts; $15 per Boy Scout, Adult or Sibling; $60 Max per family (scout bucks only)

              Pack 437 Scouts; $15 per Cub Scout, Adult or Sibling; $60 Max per family

              Payment will be collected by the pack for the cub scouts and their guests.


Packing List: 

Complete change of clothes and extra socks               Sweatshirt, Jacket, Sleeping clothes, Rain Gear

Sleeping bag and Pillow                                                Scout book, and Flashlight

Water bottle                                                                   Backpack or duffel bag

Plastic bag for wet /dirty clothes                                    Positive Attitude


Smellables (personal hygiene):

Toothbrush/toothpaste                Soap and washcloth                        Personal medication


Wear Class A uniform with a Class B underneath for traveling

Check the weather forecast to see how cold or wet it might get and pack accordingly
