Namekagon Canoeing Campout

Who: All Scouts and Scouting Families

         *Special Invite to Pack 437 & Pack 151 Webelos Scouts              & Guardian

What:  Canoe down the Namekagon River and camp at the                 Howell Landing Primitive Campsite. 

          *Canoe / Camp / Socialize / Play Yard Games / Work on             Advancement

When: Friday, August 25th - Sunday, August 27th

Where: Howell Landing Primitive Campsite near Trego, WI

Cost: $65 per person 

​

Signup:  Click on the Sign Up for Event button to the left. Cancellations after August 16th will be charged $65 unless you can find someone to take your place.

Items of Note: 

1) This trip consists of canoeing and camping. 

2) We will be carpooling.

3) Check the weather forecast to see how cold it might get and pack accordingly.

4) Youth will sleep in troop tents. Adults may supply their own or use a troop tent.

5) Webelos attending MUST have an adult with them. Webelos youth and guardian may tent together.

6) Each participant can bring their own (clearly labelled) life jacket. Life Jackets will be available from the outfitter.

Departure: Otter Lake Elementary on Friday, August 25th at 6pm.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in. 

 

EAT dinner before arriving.

Wear Class A uniform with a Class B underneath for traveling

Returning: Sunday around 2pm

Scouts / Adults Should Bring:​

  1. Complete change of clothes and extra socks

  2. 2 underwear

  3. 1 pair pants

  4. 2 pair shorts

  5. 2 shirts

  6. Sweatshirt or jacket

  7. Hat

  8. Swimsuit

  9. Water shoes

  10. Beach towel

  11. One set of non-cotton clothes for the canoe: polyester, poly-pro, wool or nylon

  12. Raincoat

  13. Closed toe shoes - dry for in camp

  14. Sleeping clothes

  15. Sleeping bag & sleeping pad

  16. Pillow

  17. Camp chair

  18. Scout book

  19. Flashlight

  20. Pocketknife

  21. Mess kit, cup, knife, fork and spoon (plastic recommended)

  22. Mesh bag with drawstring for holding/drying mess kit

  23. Water bottle

  24. Backpack or duffel bag

  25. Plastic bag for wet clothes

  26. Smellables (personal hygiene):

    1. Toothbrush/toothpaste

    2. Soap and washcloth

    3. Personal medication
