Time to Get Rolling...

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, scouts Carter, Nolan, Alex, Vincent and Dominic along with adult leaders Mr. Greene, Mr. Wrisky, Mr. Maher and Mr. McKinnon went on a 15 mile bike ride with Cycling merit badge Counselor Mr. Clysdale.  The route we took was on the path next to Highway 61 from Hugo to Forest Lake and back.  Starting from the “new” North Star Elementary and turning back just past the bridge going over Broadway Avenue.

The activity was done to complete one of the 15-mile ride requirements for the Cycling merit badge.  Mr. Stetz also helped by providing a sag wagon with additional water and the like.  Wildlife such as rabbits and robins were seen on the ride.  I also saw a bald eagle flying, or at least what I believe was one.

If you missed out on this activity and wish you were there?  Well good news, we have the Cycling and Whitewater Rafting Campout coming up in late June.  Signing up is still possible.  If you are reading this afterwards, well you might have to wait for at least 2 more years for the next one but I hope to see you there!
