My Favorite Scout Memories

I have been in scouts since kindergarten. I’ve been doing some form of scouting for 12 years. That’s a long time! I have so many memories - some hard, some hilarious, and everything in between.

My favorite memories in scouting are related to the annual Friday night campfire at Tomahawk Scout Camp. During the week at camp, the adult leaders would essentially spy on the scouts and wait for the shenanigans to start. Then, they would create awards and give them out at this campfire.  We would wait patiently-ish to see the custom awards. As the awards were tee-ed up, we would try to guess the award recipient. Through the years, some of the awards I received were First Blood (don’t ask), Early Riser (pretty sure my tent flooded), Gamemaster… and something about my s’mores choices. The night was always a favorite and giggle-filled.  It was a nice way to end the week at camp!
